Airbnb check-in in Dubai

A guest's first ten minutes decide the review. Here is how to make arrival smooth in a Dubai tower, at any hour.

Published by fäm Living. We check guests in at the homes we run in Dubai. These are the steps we follow. Official source: Department of Economy and Tourism.
1

Register the guest first

Every guest is registered with the Department of Economy and Tourism from their passport or Emirates ID. Collect ID before arrival so check-in is not held up.

2

Know the building's rules

Many Dubai towers need guests on a visitor list, an access card for the lift or a meeting at reception. Find out before you promise self check-in.

3

Choose how keys are handed over

In person, through reception, a key box or a smart lock. Whichever you choose, it must work at two in the morning when a flight lands late.

4

Send clear arrival instructions

Address, tower and entrance, parking, how to get the keys and cards, and a phone number that answers. Send them a day before and again on the day.

5

Have a plan for problems

Lost cards, a lift that needs a card, a lock with a flat battery. Someone must be able to reach the home quickly at any hour.

6

Check-out the same way

Tell guests where keys and access cards go, and check the home before the next arrival.

Next: the cleaning checklist, better reviews and co-host or full management.

Questions

Check-in: host questions

Can I offer self check-in for my Airbnb in Dubai?

Often yes, if the building allows it. Some towers require guests to be met or listed at reception, and every guest must still be registered from their ID.

Do Airbnb guests in Dubai need to send their passport?

Yes. Licensed holiday homes register every guest with the Department of Economy and Tourism, so hosts ask for ID before arrival.

What if a guest arrives at night?

Plan for it. A key box or smart lock, reception that hands over keys, or a team member on call. Late arrivals are common in Dubai.

Who handles check-in if I live abroad?

A management company or a local co-host. Ask who meets guests, who answers at night and how fast someone can reach the home.
